#11

When this chapter first started I no longer thought this beastie is just a pig. Who knows what that thing was. I'd be pretty scared if i was anyone of them, but after finding out that it was just a fallen pilot, I'm not sure why they ran away instead of helping him. If they weren't out at night maybe they would have had a more clear idea of what it was before over reacting. I Think the hunters need to become more serious when it comes to their 'job'. If then think its so important, then they need to really make for of an effort, and go about things in a smarter way. Someone could get hurt with them playing around like that.

#10

At this point, I'm really confused as too what the beast is. I don't even know if i believe it exists, we never really get a full description of what character is doing what, at all times.. so it could even be one of them. I'm still wondering what happened to the kid with the birth mark.. it doesn't seem like anyone is even trying to find him. This "beastie" might even just be a pig. Although I'm not sure a pig could be that smart and stay hidden or steal children.

#9

When Ralph is deciding what he should do, I'm glad he started to consider piggy's ideas more. i thought they made the most sense. The meeting was well thought out but I don't think the rest of them got it through their heads about how important the food, drinking water and shelter is. Especially important is the fire. Without that they have no chance of being saved and I doing think Jack even cares.

#8

I think its good that the littluns still get to run around, play and have fun like normal kids. Although its not very nice of the older kids to kick over sand castles and throw stones. I think that the bigguns should be keeping a closer eye on the littlus, especially if there is a "beastie" running around. Maybe Jack is taking this hunting thing way too far, with the face paint and what not. It's even worse because it was their fault they let the fire go out. I would be extremely mad at the hunters. It was terrible for Jack to slap Piggy, even breaking one of his lenses, that was just plain stupid, they need those glasses to start fires.

I found that Jack was very excited to catch and kill the big. Almost seemed crazy just to get meat and to prove he was brave enough to do it. Too bad he didn't get it once again. I worry about the littlus wandering off where no one is watching them. No one really knows what they are up to especially with one boy already missing. It might be helpful to have a fire going at all times, that way if a ship is passing or a plane they have a much better chance of being rescued. I think that they should all be helping build shelters and gathering food. That way everyone is doing their fair share not just a few people. They need food and shelters to survive so maybe that should be their main focus.. not one or the other.

#6

At the start Jack lets the big get away, I think this was because he wasn't brave enough to kill it although he clams he'll kill it next time. The boys in this book I find are very strange with the things they say and sounds they make. The wording in the book sometimes throws me off, I often have to re-read pages to make sense of it. I think that the boy did see the "beastie" but I don't blame the other kids for not believing him, I don't think I would either. The other kids might secretly believe him but don't want to get too scared them selves. Piggy does have some good ideas and could be very useful. Everyone should start listening to him instead of Jack and Ralph. Although at times he can be very whiny and wouldn't make a very good leader.
