I found that Jack was very excited to catch and kill the big. Almost seemed crazy just to get meat and to prove he was brave enough to do it. Too bad he didn't get it once again. I worry about the littlus wandering off where no one is watching them. No one really knows what they are up to especially with one boy already missing. It might be helpful to have a fire going at all times, that way if a ship is passing or a plane they have a much better chance of being rescued. I think that they should all be helping build shelters and gathering food. That way everyone is doing their fair share not just a few people. They need food and shelters to survive so maybe that should be their main focus.. not one or the other.

At the start Jack lets the big get away, I think this was because he wasn't brave enough to kill it although he clams he'll kill it next time. The boys in this book I find are very strange with the things they say and sounds they make. The wording in the book sometimes throws me off, I often have to re-read pages to make sense of it. I think that the boy did see the "beastie" but I don't blame the other kids for not believing him, I don't think I would either. The other kids might secretly believe him but don't want to get too scared them selves. Piggy does have some good ideas and could be very useful. Everyone should start listening to him instead of Jack and Ralph. Although at times he can be very whiny and wouldn't make a very good leader.

I think people do good for many different reasons. Possible because it makes them feel better about them selves. Also it could be just for show, to make it look like they aren't selfish. People may do good naturally, if it was how they were raised.

I think that there is a big difference between boys and girls fightig. For example, boys fight physically. They make a big deal fist fight and then they're over it. Where as girls, start romors and hold gruges. Many things can cause bullying and/or fighting. Facebook is a prime example of how social networking sites can cause trouble and cyber bullying. I think it starts by fake information or exaggeraion. Despite all the attention spent fighting it, it still happens because teens like to feel superior to there peers, they only way they think the can achive this is by putting others down.

I feel that the book has a very slow start. The charactors are very different, and I find them hard to relate to. Which makes the book a boring read. I'm waiting for the story line to pick up. I assume that will hapepn soon. Other wise I will find it very hard to relate or be intersted in the rest of this book.

I chose my memoir event because I thought it was the most 'life changing'. Although it isn't comparable to the examples shown in class, it is pretty much the most eventful thing that has happened in my life. (that I can share in school)

My favourite gr9 English class memory is playing the song 'Friday' every Friday right before class ended.
